The ‘Work-Life Blend’ Method: Why Work-Life Balance is a Lie & How to Fix It

work life balance

January always feels like a fresh start, a time when we set big goals—both for our businesses and our personal lives.

For years, I chased the perfect work-life balance—trying to divide my time between work and family equally. But I always felt like I was failing at both.

That’s when I realized: Balance isn’t the answer. Blending is.

What is Work-Life Blend?

Instead of forcing separation, successful entrepreneurs find synergy between their work and personal lives.

Here’s what I changed:

  1. Integrated My Family Into My Business Mindset – When my daughters were younger, I started bringing them into my world—talking about deals at the dinner table and getting their thoughts. They became part of the journey, not just spectators.

  2. Time-Blocked for Priorities, Not Just Work – Instead of just scheduling meetings, I blocked time for family, workouts, and personal growth—treating them as non-negotiable as any CEO call.

  3. Accepted That Some Weeks Are Unbalanced—and That’s Okay – Some weeks, my business needs me more. Other weeks, my family does. The key is intentionality, not guilt.

Forget the myth of balance. Build a life that blends the best of both worlds.
