Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Jay Feitlinger (“I,” “me” or “my”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit jayfeitlinger.com (the “Site”), contact me, or request a download such as the Family 2.0 Workbook. By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the Site.

The short version

  • I collect the information you choose to give me, like your name and email address when you fill out a form.
  • With your consent, I use analytics tools to understand how people use the Site.
  • I don’t sell your personal information, and I don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • You can unsubscribe from my emails at any time, change your cookie choices, or ask me to access or delete your information.

Information you give me

  • Contact form. Your name, email address and message. Submissions are emailed to me and stored in the Site’s database so I can respond.
  • Download requests. When you request the Family 2.0 Workbook or the free eBook, I collect your name and email address. For the workbook, I also ask for your book order number and how you plan to use Family 2.0. These signups are managed through Mailchimp, which sends you a confirmation email and the download.
  • Emails and messages. Anything you send me directly, such as an email or a reply to one of mine.

Please don’t send me sensitive information, such as health, financial or government ID details, through the Site.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, some information is collected automatically by the Site and by the service providers described below. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring website, the pages you view, the time and length of your visit, and approximate location derived from your IP address.

  • Analytics (with your consent). I use Google Analytics to measure visits and see which pages are useful, and Hotjar to understand how visitors use pages, such as clicks, scrolling and page interactions, which can include session recordings. These tools load only after you accept statistics cookies in the cookie banner.
  • Site statistics and security. The Site uses Jetpack (from Automattic) for basic visit statistics and security, along with security tools that log IP addresses and request data to block attacks and spam. Akismet and Google reCAPTCHA may process form submissions and related technical data to detect spam.
  • Tag management. The Site uses Google Tag Manager, which loads certain scripts on the Site.
  • Hosting. My hosting provider and its content delivery network keep server logs, including IP addresses, as part of running and securing the Site.

Cookies and your choices

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Necessary cookies keep the Site working and remember your cookie choices. Statistics cookies, like those used by Google Analytics and Hotjar, are used only with your consent. You can change your choices at any time using the cookie settings link shown on the Site, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser. For details, see the Cookie Policy.

How I use information

  • To respond to your messages and requests, including speaking, coaching and board inquiries.
  • To deliver the downloads you request and, if you signed up, to send occasional emails related to that request. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it.
  • To protect the Site, prevent spam and abuse, and keep it secure.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to protect my rights, property and safety, and those of others.

How I share information

I share personal information only as described here:

  • Service providers that help me run the Site and process information on my behalf, including my web host (HostGator and its content delivery network), Mailchimp (email signups and delivery), Google (Analytics, Tag Manager and reCAPTCHA), Hotjar (usage analytics) and Automattic (Jetpack, Akismet and Gravatar).
  • Legal and safety reasons. If I believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or is necessary to protect my rights, the rights of others, or anyone’s safety.
  • Transfers. If the Site or related assets are transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

Some links on the Site, including links to Amazon, are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. When you click an affiliate link, the destination site may collect information about you under its own privacy policy.

How long I keep information

I keep personal information only as long as it’s needed for the purposes described in this policy, such as responding to you or providing downloads you requested, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Email signups remain in Mailchimp until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the analytics provider.

Your rights and choices

  • Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email.
  • Cookie choices can be changed through the Site’s cookie settings.
  • Access, correction and deletion. You can ask me for a copy of the personal information I hold about you, or ask me to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, such as the right to opt out of certain processing.
  • Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time, and may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Where these laws apply, I rely on your consent (for example, for analytics cookies and email signups), on my legitimate interests in operating, improving and securing the Site, and on the need to respond to requests you make.

To make a request, contact me using the details below. I may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and I’ll respond within the time required by applicable law.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

There is no common standard for responding to browser “Do Not Track” signals, so the Site does not respond to them. I don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where applicable law requires it, I treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of those activities.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom), and I don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, contact me and I’ll delete it.

Security

I use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and security software. No website, transmission or storage method is completely secure, so I can’t guarantee absolute security.

International visitors

The Site is operated from the United States, and information is processed in the United States and in other countries where my service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws different from those where you live.

Links to other websites

The Site links to other websites, including StringCan Interactive, Amazon, LinkedIn and others. I’m not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. Please review their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I’ll post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. If I make material changes, I’ll provide a more prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the updated policy.
